Strengthening the unique population of a strict endemic of Corsica: Centranthus trinervis

The three-ribbed Centranthus (Centranthus trinervis (Viv.) Beg.) is a taxon of the Caprifoliaceae family (formerly Valerianaceae) whose unique population is found on the granitic massif of Trinité* (Municipality of Bonifacio).

Translocation of Crypsis hadjikyriakou to Pashia Livadi, Cyprus

Crypsis hadjikyriakou is an endemic annual grass of Cyprus, flowering from July to August and fruiting from August to September. It is confined to a single location at the Almyrolivado area, where it grows in the alkaline fen, at 1650 m altitude.

In situ conservation action for Linum maritimum in Mallorca

CARE-MEDIFLORA partner in the Balearic Islands, the Sóller Botanic Garden (JBS), is carrying out a reintroduction of the population of Linum maritimum L., with the support of the Albufera Natural Park (PNA)and the collaboration of Hotel Parc Natural & Spa in a protected area in s’Albufera d’Alcudia (Mallorca).

Introduction of a population of Ranunculus sylviae, strict endemic of Corsica, on Cuscione plateau area

Despite the fall of the first snows, the Office of the Environment of Corsica (OEC-CBNC) installed, with the support of the Community of Municipalities of Alta Rocca, a new population of Ranunculus sylviae on Cuscione plateau area (municipality of Serra di Scopamene).

Training for ex situ conservation by CARE-MEDIFLORA partners in collaboration with IUCN-Med

As part of the CARE-MEDIFLORA project, five practical trainings for 7 scientists coming from Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco, have been successfully completed at the Sardinian Germplasm Bank (BG-SAR), of the Hortus Botanicus Karalitanus (HBK), in collaboration with the IUCN-Med (as part of the IPAMed project).
